A lighter ski that also charges hard, making it the least nerdy touring ski in the world.
The Artwork – Chris Delorenzo X J Collab
Chris Delorenzo is an artist hailing from the ice coast of Boston, Massachusetts. We’re big fans of his unique style with super clean lines and simplified flowing illustrations and always sneaking in things to discover each time you take a closer look.
I gave him a call and after a little brainstorming we set out to use the long vertical ski canvas to visually tell the classic story of an epic day in the backcountry. Starting at the tail rolling up in your camper, then going for a walk in the woods, meeting critters along the way towards the prize at the top. When you get there, you pull off your skins with a mountain of pristine powder in front of you, ready to drop in to get the best “first tracks” of your life.
One of his first questions was, “can I get a pair of the skis too?” Welcome to the team Chris! I’m building only 350 pair of this new Limited Edition graphic on “The Slacker” ski and hand signing and numbering each pair so you have a very unique ski like no one else on the skin track.
J-Skis – The Slacker 2022
“The Slacker” is an all-terrain freestyle ski designed with uphill efficiency, while maintaining the solid, intuitive downhill performance J skis are known for. Built with the backcountry in mind, its weight-conscious aspen core construction coupled with maple running over the edges gives it a light yet one-of-a-kind solid feel.
There’s a subtle tail notch in the tail for reliable skin tail clip retention making touring easy without looking like a skimo nerd. We also offer pre-cut Pomoca skins that fit perfectly and are ready to go touring right out of the box! Unlike others, the Slacker is at home ripping around the resort as it is out of bounds, leaving traditional uphill specific skis behind. Smash, surf, play and have more fun adventuring off the beaten path. Go earn ‘em!
