Offizielle Beschreibung
„The north face of Trollvasstind, on the Lyngen peninsula of northern Norway, caught Swedish freeskier Jacob Wester’s interest on his very first trip to these legendary skiing grounds in the spring of 2017. After a first descent of the line with no background information, very little experience, and barely any cameras, the line has been left alone for nearly 8 years, until the spring of 2025, when it once again was in condition. Teaming up with Italian skiers and snowboarders Jakob and Matthias Weger, Jacob sets out to repeat the objective, with the aim to ski it in his trademark steepskiing-freeride style, and to document it for the world to see. The question of why one would expose oneself to the dangers of these projects often arise. This film will do its best to answer it, exploring themes of personal growth, lust for adventure, and the feeling of seeing ones own ski tracks on an impossibly steep wall far from anyone’s comfort zone. This is the Return to the Why.
